Millets are a rich source of nutrients and these hardy crops as well. The cultivation millet has declined in the country since government focused on fine cereals suitable policies were not there for millets. study area, production productivity jowar, bajra, ragi small largest producing states millets, bajra Uttarakhand, Maharashtra Rajasthan Karnataka, respectively. From 1950-2021 area under with CAGR -3.60 %, -1.86 -1.27 % -0.60%, millets jowar growth rates -2.89% -0.63 Production showed rate 0.12 per annum from 1950-51 to 2020-21 increased 1.68%. Decomposition analysis indicated that due yield effect areas effect. consumption rural well urban over years. Thus, is need promoting awareness among farmers consumers about importance healthy diet which could increase their demand consumption.
